What is Rhythm Rockers?

1. By demonstrating through the physical pulse, verbalizing the appropriate subdivision, and reproducing the notated rhythm.
2. By demonstrating through Playing on a small part of their instrument (i.e. mouthpiece, head joint, etc…), while continuing to Tap their foot with the pulse.

- Demonstrating awareness of pulse
- Counting helps further develop internal association with pulse and subdivision
- Demonstrating execution of rhythm
2. By demonstrating through Playing on a small part of their instrument (i.e. mouthpiece, head joint, etc…), while continuing to Tap their foot with the pulse.
- Tapping continues to demonstrate awareness of external pulse
- Playing demonstrates execution of rhythm on actual instrument. Allows focus to be on Air & Embouchure while layering in Tongue movement/placement without the distraction of entire instrument. Students can maintain pitch consistency on the small part of their instrument (Clarinet mouthpiece and barrel F#, Saxophone mouthpiece and neck G#, etc)
